Parte 3 - in camper in Turchia

Nicea (and Bursa)

Last weekend i went to Bursa and Izmik. Bursa is a city between Ankara and Istambul and it's really nice: a well cared historical center with a lot of pleasant mosques and old bazars, a lot of fountains and trees everywhere. Even around the town, there are forests and fields and not horrible surroundings like in most turkish cities. On the streets there were a lot of farmers selling peaches. Bursa is also the homeland of iskender kebap, a type of kebap which pieces of hard bread and hot butter. Izmik is a village, not far from Bursa, on a quite big lake. Once Izmik was called Nicea, and therefore it's one of the most important place for Christian religions, because here in 325 the Nicea consilium was held and the fundamental theological beliefs of Christianism were established. Now Nicea/Izmik is a little village with the ruins of the old church, some defensive walls around and a very quiet and relaxing life. The nature is beautiful: the lake on one side, mountains covered with olive trees cultivations and forests.
Now my classification (apart from Ankara and Istambul is: 1 Safranbolu 2 Bursa 3 Izmik 4 Antalya 5 Hattusa 6 Konya 7 Gaziantep.
