children and tribunals
back to bujumbura. on friday i am leaving to italy.
my work about our adoption program has come to an end. we have the intention to stop it. i understand why doing that it is probably the best thing, but i am a bit sad thinking to the faces and the stories of the children i met. apart from the fact that is not development there an other major problem: many children we help are living with families who are not relatives to them, and there are not written documents to certify the legality of this. that is why there is the possibility to being accused of complicity in kidnapping children, and if we go to court, here we lose despite we are right or not, just because we are not from burundi. someone has just told us he want to take us in front of a tribunal for an other project, and once is enough.
