concert

yesterday i went to a concert in a sort of youth center here in bujumbura. this place is in one of the poorest barrios of the city, and it's quite big: there is a library, a football field, a computer room and they organise some other activities to try to teach the youngs of the barrio (both hutu and tutsi) the culture of peace. the task is difficult, but they work hard. the name of the centre is kamenge and thay have an internet site (that's to suggest you to have a look).
about the concert, it was nice, with thousands of children who came to see some of the best know singers (mostly rap singers, dressed in a way they think usa rap singers are dressed:) of burundi.
and thanks to the fact i'm white (i'm still white), i could sit behind the stage, even if i didn't play any role in organising the event...
